چکیده

A clique of a graph is a maximal set of vertices of size at least 2 that induces a complete graph. A k-clique-colouring of a graph is a colouring of the vertices with at most k colours such that no clique is monochromatic. Défossez proved that the 2-cliquecolouring of perfect graphs is a Σ2 -complete problem [J. Graph Theory 62 (2009) 139–156]. We strengthen this result by showing that it is still Σ2 -complete for weakly chordal graphs. We then determine a hierarchy of nested subclasses of weakly chordal graphs whereby each graph class is in a distinct complexity class, namely Σ2 -complete, NP-complete, and P. We solve an open problem posed by Kratochv́ıl and Tuza to determine the complexity of 2-clique-colouring of perfect graphs with all cliques having size at least 3 [J. Algorithms 45 (2002), 40–54], proving that it is a Σ2 -complete problem. We then determine a hierarchy of nested subclasses of perfect graphs with all cliques having size at least 3 whereby each graph class is in a distinct complexity class, namely Σ2 -complete, NP-complete, and P.

Cohen-Macaulay $r$-partite graphs with minimal clique cover

‎In this paper‎, ‎we give some necessary conditions for an $r$-partite graph such that the edge ring of the graph is Cohen-Macaulay‎. ‎It is proved that if there exists a cover of an $r$-partite Cohen-Macaulay graph by disjoint cliques of size $r$‎, ‎then such a cover is unique‎.

Dominating Cliques in Distance-Hereditary Graphs

1 I n t r o d u c t i o n A subset D C V is a dominating set in graph G = (V, E) iff for all vertices v E V \ D there is a vertex u E D with uv E E. It is a dominating clique in G iff D is a dominating set in G and a clique (i.e. for all u, v E D uv E E). There are many papers investigating the problem of finding minimum dominating sets in graphs with (and without) additional requirements to th...

Boundary cliques, clique trees and perfect sequences of maximal cliques of a chordal graph

We characterize clique trees of a chordal graph in their relation to simplicial vertices and perfect sequences of maximal cliques. We investigate boundary cliques de ned by Shibata[23] and clarify their relation to endpoints of clique trees. Next we de ne a symmetric binary relation between the set of clique trees and the set of perfect sequences of maximal cliques. We describe the relation as ...

r-Dominating cliques in graphs with hypertree structure

Let G = (V, E) be an undirected graph and r be a vertex weight function with positive integer values. A subset (clique) D ~_ V is an r-dominat ing set (clique) in G ifffor every vertex v e V there is a vertex u e D with dist(u, v) <~ r(v). This paper contains the following results: (i) We give a simple necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of r-dominating cliques in the case of H...

The b-chromatic number of some tree-like graphs. (Le nombre b-chromatique de quelques classes de graphes généralisant les arbres)

A vertex colouring of a graph G is called a b-colouring if each colour class contains at least one vertex that has a neighbour in all other colour classes. The b-chromatic number χb(G) of G is the largest integer k for which G has a b-colouring with k colours. These concepts have been introduced by Irving and Manlove in 1999. They allow the analisys of the performance of some algorithms for col...
